Lebanon, with its rich history and vibrant civilization, has long been home to diverse religions, occasionally leading to ongoing conflicts. However, historically, these religions coexisted harmoniously, sharing many commonalities. The ancient relics in Byblos bear witness to this unity. This design aims to immerse audiences in Lebanon's history, awaken the power of faith, and blend various religious cultures, evoking a profound sense of connection.
Abstract Translation of Patterns
Christianity and Islam share many similar yet distinctive symbols, which they use in the structure and decoration of their buildings. Inspired by these symbols, the design extracts, abstracts, and restructures them to create sacred spaces with unique spatial characteristics. Three-dimensional spaces are constructed by linking these two-dimensional symbols through pathways, ultimately integrating the symbols with the buildings.
The Christian and Islamic spaces are both independent and interrelated. Along the path from the entrance to the pilgrimage spaces, and from the pilgrimage spaces to the final areas of communication and exchange, followers discover commonalities in their beliefs, including shared historical origins and common aspirations for the future. This understanding helps resolve unnecessary conflicts and disputes. Through this journey, they collectively move towards a unified spiritual world.
